Circuit La Futaie

The bocage of this countryside, voluntarily preserved from reparcelling after a collective choice, still weaves a network of hedges, paths, streams and ditches. A moment's silence is enough to bring out the songs of the birds. Rabbits and roe deer can often be seen scurrying or lingering in the company of grazing cows and horses. Corn and potatoes thrive in the best, most carefully cultivated soils. The countryside is dotted with old bordages, often renovated, and more comfortable cottages. Both are surrounded by flower gardens, vegetable patches and hedges. The eye can detect a change in fashion: fewer cedars and more country hedges.
